Okay… I’m just going to say it: I’ve been a little behind on posting lately.

Life has been a lot (in a very real, mom-life, slightly chaotic way), and when things feel overwhelming, the “fun” things are usually the first to get pushed aside.

But I’ve missed this. And I’ve missed you.

What I’ve Been Working On 🧶

Lately… I fear I’ve entered my crochet clothing era.

Like, I genuinely cannot stop making clothes right now - and honestly? It’s been so fun.

There’s something about being able to wear something you made that just hits different. And now I’m fully in the mindset of: what can I make for myself for summer?

Because if I can crochet my wardrobe… I will.

The Chunky Crochet Sweater (Pattern Coming Soon)

This one has my whole heart right now.

It’s oversized, cozy, and one of those pieces you throw on and instantly feel put together - even if everything else is chaos.

I’m currently turning it into a pattern, and I’m taking my time with it because I want it to actually make sense. Not confusing, not overwhelming - just something you can follow without wanting to give up halfway through.

This will be coming very soon!

The Matching Set (Current Obsession)

Okay… this is the one.

I’m working on a crochet matching set right now and I’m slightly obsessed with it. This is the project that fully pushed me into my “I want to make my own clothes” mindset.

If it turns out the way I’m picturing it (which I really hope it does), I’ll absolutely be turning this into a pattern too. Right now, I’m making the cutest comfy striped shorts and I plan to either make a matching crewneck style sweater or a matching shirt. Or honestly both so you can wear it in the summer no matter the weather.

Because cute, wearable, handmade outfits?? Yes please. I just wish it was cheaper than buying 😂 In my head it always feels free when I make it myself until I have to go buy the yarn 😆 BUT… I love the idea of having something unique, cute and fun for summer.

The Granny Square Purse (Quick Win Project)

I needed something fast and satisfying, and this was exactly that.

It worked up so quickly and turned out so cute! One of those projects where you finish it and immediately feel accomplished.

The Very Slow Fairy Castle

This is my “when I have the energy” project lol

I’m making a little crochet fairy castle for my girls, and it’s definitely a slower one - but it’s going to be so special when it’s done.

We’re just… taking our time with this one.

I plan to make little fairy dolls to go inside and some doll clothes so my girls can change their outfits.

What’s Next

Honestly, probably more clothes.

I really want to build up a little collection of pieces I’ve made myself - things I can actually wear day-to-day, especially going into summer.

There’s just something so fun about turning yarn into something you’d normally buy or want to buy but can’t find in store.

And the fact that you can customize it exactly how you want?? Even better!!

A Little Note (Especially If You’re New)

If crochet has ever felt confusing or frustrating for you… you’re not alone.

That’s literally why this exists.

You don’t have to be perfect at it. You don’t need to understand everything right away. And you definitely don’t need to make complicated things to enjoy it.

Sometimes it’s just about making something fun… and being like, “wait, I made that??”

A Little Project That Means a Lot

I also wanted to share something a little more personal.

I recently made a lightweight crochet cap for my neighbor who’s going through cancer treatment, and it turned out so sweet. It’s soft, breathable, and perfect for spring - exactly what I was hoping for.

I followed a pattern that was honestly perfect, so I’ll link it here in case you know someone who might need something like this too:

It really reminded me how meaningful crochet can be. Like yes, it’s fun and creative, but it can also be such a simple way to care for someone.

I’d really love to make her a few more things, but I’m starting to run out of ideas. So if you’ve ever made something for someone going through cancer, or you are someone who’s been through it - what would you actually want or find helpful?

Comfort items, practical things, anything.
